When you make a decision to place your own home laboratory for your CCNA and CCNP studies (a very wise decision, if I can say it!), the hardest part is looking for ways to spend your budget. Do you spend everything on the router and go with a cheaper 1900 switch, knowing that 640-801 (CCNA), 640-821 (intro), and the exam 640-811 (ICND) now puts a premium about knowing the INS and out of the 2950 switch? Do you buy a frame relay switch 300-115 dumps? Do you buy an access server?
One factor needs to be remembered when you start placing a lab together is that you don’t need to unite everything at once. With careful planning, you have a laboratory that you can use for your intro study, maybe add or two router for ICND studies, and then some more devices for your CCNP study.
Of course, it also depends on your budget. If you’ve got $ 500 to spend, great! If not, it’s okay. The key is you will work with real deals, not a simulation program. And remember that you can always sell equipment when you have achieved your certification goal. You basically rent equipment and then forward it to other CCNA or CCNP candidates.

You can create a loopback interface on both routers and then practice advertise it through RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, and OSPF. If you can, make sure to get the BRI interface on these two first router too. The ISDN simulator fee can prevent you from running ISDN at first, but plan for the future now.
The best is spring for the 2950 switch if it suits your budget. The switch has an iOS that contradicts the 1900 switch which is driven by the menu, so the practice will be useful on the exam day. If you can’t afford it now, the 1900 switch is certainly better than no switch at all!
Three routers, one switch. I will consider using the third router as a frame relay switch. If your first two router has two serial interfaces, and the third, you can buy some additional DTE / DCE cables and configure your own Cloud Frame Relay. Four routers, one switch. This setting will allow you to have three routers that communicate through the Cloud Frame Relay, two routers that connect through a serial interface that is directly connected, and at least two routers that communicate through the switch.
